“Iris” took some time, it is one of those paintings that I thought I was finished with, and then suddenly about 3 months later like it called me back in and I worked on it passionately for another 2 weeks! For me, it was the last finishing touches which formed this painting to perfection. Fast-moving wheel, a whirlpool to nowhere… like a lit fireplace that you stare into for hours and hours and let yourself float away…where only you want to be.
