ARTIST STATEMENT

My deeper connection with the world of art began at the age of fourteen, when I was fortunate enough to be accepted to the Secondary School of Glass Art. Under the guidance of Zdeňka Laštovičková, I discovered the magic of realistic drawing, painting, and modeling. After graduation, I stepped away from art for several years and returned around the age of eighteen. This return was sparked by a personal, life-changing event, which I now see with gratitude, as it led me back to the path I cannot imagine living without.

Nature has always been a strong source of inspiration for my work, yet it is not my only muse. My creative process reflects the daily constellation of experiences, impressions and emotions that inevitably find their way onto canvas. In the beginning my work was about precision and detail, small dots and careful order. Over time, as I embraced freedom, left behind conventional employment, and stepped into uncertainty, my work transformed into a space of exploration and play where I allow myself to try anything that calls to me. To bring my vision to life I often reach for unexpected tools or materials, blending the seemingly incompatible. Most recently, even a herbal hair oil has found its way into my paints.

What fascinates me most is the process itself, the quiet focus at the start, the sudden spark of impulse, the joy of letting go. Within me, there is always a dialogue between the adult, measured and guiding, and the child, wild, unrestrained and eager to break the rules. These two voices continue to shape my work and for now I embrace their conversation.
