WHILE HE SLEEPS

"While he sleeps".... My grandson has just fallen asleep after lunch and I have an estimated hour to run away from my grandmothering to the studio and follow up on one of the paintings in progress. In this painting, during that hour, the notion of work was so unexpectedly interesting. I'm an adult, so I'm trying to explain it intellectually, which is stupid in itself. It's just that I want to be able to repeat that state... the only thing that my emotional memory has come to is that I brought his immediate form of existence to the studio after the time spent with the two-year-old. The way all of his activity follows a single direction. He doesn't care what it is, but it must activate his threshold of joy and curiosity.
